Detailed description of topics:
Application of marine technology in the design of floating offshore platforms, including wave loading, hydrostatic stability, motions in waves, structural strenght, logistics, deck lay-out, safety. Analysis of catenary mooring systems and of riser systems. Criteria and requirements posed by offshore industrial activities, platform owners, construction yards, authorities.
