Detailed
description of topics:
Heat
exchangers: formules for heat and water vapour transfer on wet surfaces, dimensioning of
whole or partly wet heat exchangers and apparatus for combined heat and water transfer,
such as cooling towers, temperature efficiency of counter flow, parallel flow and cross
flow heat exchangers.
Fans:
pressure increase and other fan curves for different fan types, rules in connection with
dimensions and number of revolutions, possible problems, energy efficient control of
pressure level.
Noise:
calculation of noise level of fans via the duct system, provisions for noise reduction,
noise production in the ducts, noise transmission between two rooms via the duct.
Air
cleaning and dust extraction: filter qualities and test methods for filters, building and
installation of clean rooms and operating theaters, methods for gas cleaning.
Indoor
environment control in industrial and recreational rooms: basic principles of air supply
and exhaust.
Control
of air conditioning installations: description of control system consisting of climate,
building, AC-installation, parts of the control installation such as measuring
instruments, controller and control devices, control of the system, building automation.

Remarks
(specific information about assesment, entry requirements, etc.): |
Goals:
In Indoor Climate Control B specific subject of the design proces are more
fundamentally considered, such as dimensioning of heat exchangers, calculation of noise
level, optimal control of the AC-installation. |
Computer
use:
The optimal and most energy saving control of an AC-installation is investigated with
the program ENERK. |
Laboratory
project(s):
Demonstration of measuring devices by measurements in a climate test room. |
Design
content:
Components of HVAC |
Percentage
of design: 70% dedicated to design of components |
