Detailed description of topics:

Based on a functional description the student is expected to make a design and to realize the design. The sub assignments carried out take care of an optimal integration of the different disciplines involved. Specific aspects of control systems are incorporated in the assignment. The mechatronical aspect is embedded in the functional description of the assignment. With the knowledge aquired during the sub assignments reasoned choice must be made for the implementation and integration of the different sub functions. This includes measurement methods error analysis, accuracy.

The following subjects are part of the project:

  • Analysis of the dynamics of the system.

  • Analysis of different sensors, specifications of sensors and choice of sensors.

  • Signalconditioning (filters, amplyfiers)

  • Sampling, aliasing.

  • Time domain verses frequency domain

  • Analysis of actuators (dynamical behaviour)

  • Error analysis

  • Synchronisation in a measurement and control system.
