Remarks (specific information about assesment, entry requirements, etc.):

Goals:
(1) To master basic skills in the domains of electrical and electronical engineering, dynamics of  spring-mass systems, basic informatics, programming skills. (2) Be able to communicate with electrotechnical, electronical and IT-engineers. (3) Furthermore being able to read and understand manufacturers specifications. (4) Power to solve autonomous an open problem by integrated application of the vested skills; realizing the solution in a laboratory setup.

Computer use:
Computer use is essential. The computer is used as an analysing and measurement tool (virtual instruments), and as a control divice. Programming in Visual Basic is imperative, handshaking routines between two computers have to be used.

Laboratory project(s): A large series of experiments and problems have to be dealt with in the mechatronics laboratory. Also the final assignment shall be dealt with in the laboratory.

Design content:De design is mainly concentrated in the last part op the programme: solving the open problem. The assignment is to design and build an automatic system which has to perform a reasonable complex set of tasks; requirements are fed into the computer and the system has to fulfill fully automaticly the tasks. Last years the machine to disign was a type of packing machine.

Percentage of design: 25%
