  • design of vessel forms, delineation and arrangement of lines drawing, affine transformation, systematic series;
  • hydrostatic curves and calculations;
  • transverse and longitudinal stability, dynamic stability;
  • free surface effects, shifting of weights, grounding and docking, inclination experiment;
  • stability reduction for waves;
  • judging the stability;
  • drafts after change in loading, trim curves;
  • damage stability, subdivision of ships, equivalent regulations.

during the lectures there will be made problems in preparation for assesment; 50 % of the problems of the examination will be from a set of about 45 problems and workin-outs;
Goals:
The goal of the course is to provide knowledge and understanding about the design and geometry of the ship and calculate hydrostatic quantities, intact and damage stability, etc.
