1.       Understand and intrepid ship parameters and main dimensions

2.       Intrepid owners requirements as a starting point for the design of a ship

3.       Requirements of classification societies, IMO, safety, environment

4.       Effect of environmental conditions (waves, current, wind)

5.       Gather and intrepid relevant (statistical) data of existing ships as a starting point of a design

6.       Awareness of creative and analytical procedures from which a good design evolves

7.       Evaluation of the result of the design process
