Detailed description of topics:

  • Plane kinematics of rigid bodies: rotation, absolute motion, relative velocity, instantaneous center of zero velocity, relative acceleration, motion relative to rotating axes.

  • Plane kinetics of rigid bodies: general equations of motion, translation, fixed-axis rotation, general plane motion, work and energy, impulse and momentum.

  • Introduction to three-dimensional dynamics of rigid bodies: translation, fixed-axis rotation, general motion, momentum and energy.
