Remarks
(specific information about assessment, entry requirements, etc.): No examination; presence during lecture hours is obligatory, students are required to present their lecture notes for approval. The course includes exercises and case studies. Part of the lecturers are guests from industry or from other universities. Examples may be illustrated by videotapes or by visits to industrial companies. |

Goals: The course prepares young engineers for their career in industry by giving an overview of the many problems that industry is facing today and by showing which solutions are available. Emphasis is put on the integration of the various manufacturing functions in order to reduce the time-to-market and to increase product quality. |
