Kinematic model of bars and rods; Principle of virtual work; frameworks (rods) - finite element method; Displacement method;  frameworks (beams) - finite element method; Theorie of stress and strain, Hooke's Law; Principle of minimum potential energy; Plane stress; plane strain; Introduction into the finite element method of 2 D - and 3 D - structures.i

Lecture notes "Stijfheid en Sterkte 2" (wb1204) parts I, II and III (in Dutch), edition 1998, plus supplements which from time to time will be handed over during the lectures.
