Remarks (specific information about assesment, entry requirements, etc.):
This course runs parallel with the design exercise and is interrelated with it, as the data for the case study to be made might come from the ship which is being designed. Case studies on other relevant subjects however are possible as well.
The results of the case study are based upon:
  • report of the case study
  • presentation by the team of their results
Goals:
  • Provide insight in planning and organisation of the production process.
  • application of theory on a case
  • working in groups
  • application of project management during the case study
Computer use:
Laboratory project(s): -
Design content:
The production parameters of a yard can be very important during the design process of a ship, in order that it can be built for a realistic price.
Percentage of design: 25%
