Detailed description of topics:

introduction project, project task is worked out by a group of 8 students.

· conceptual design of a sheerlegs (floating crane barge with self propulsion)

· estimation of barge dimensions

· determination of main systems and lay out of the barge

· estimation/calculation of propulsion and hoisting power

· calculation of trim due to hoist

Parallel to the project 3*2 lecture hours discussing maritime systems as: ship, hoisting equipment, diesel engine
