References from literature:
Remarks (specific information about assesment, entry requirements, etc.):
Goals:
To provide methods for defining and analysing machine functions, find conceptual (mechanism) solutions systematically and to develop the concept to a working machine, including (digital) control.
Computer use:
Use of a personal computer for the additional exercise
Laboratory project(s):
The additional exercise is focussed on mechanism design. Use will be made of CADOM-software (Computer Aided Design Of Mechanisms)
Design content:
Design of all kinds of special machinery for discrete production (mechanization). Design aspects: technical and economical demands, conceptual design, finding mechanisms to perform the required motions (synthesis), driving and controlling the machine.
Percentage of design: 100%
