Detailed description of topics:

1.    Characteristics of assembly in different segments (capital goods, consumer products, electronic assembly, micro assembly);

2.    The assembly process;

3.    Industrial assembly technology, programming and control (follow-up of wb5420);

4.    Laboratory exercise: programming of a robot cell with sensor feedback;

5.    Concepts for assembly systems, internal logistics;

6.    Design For Assembly (DFA), including case study;

7.    Micro-assembly.

During the course an examination will assess the individual knowledge level. Next, assessment will be based on the laboratory project and the case study.

Gaining knowledge and skills in industrial assembly, in order to be able to (guide the) development and implementation of assembly systems.

Design For Assembly software, assembly system simulation software.

Programming of an assembly system.

Design of assembly systems, integral with the (re)design of the product from the viewpoint of assemblability.
