Method:
Students study literature. The literature is basis for an essay and a presentation. The subject involves a subject related to shipfinance. They have to be present at all presentations and lectures. Lectures are given by represants from banks, shipyards and shipowners.
Participation and prerequisites:
Participation is permitted for thirth and fourth year students Marine Technology and thirth and fourth year students in shipbuilding from the HTS Rotterdam and Haarlem. Knowledge of basic economics is recommended.

The review is based on:
  • Participation
  • Abstracts based on the Essay and presentation
  • Written exam

Period:
Lectures take place each wednesday in the fourth semester during six weeks
Course characteristics:
The course is characterised by looking for literature independantly. Gathering information outside the University, espacially at companies.
A maximum of 15 students is sustained for the course. When less than 8 students register the course will be canceled.

The goal is to provide the student insight in the role of shipfinance in obtaining orders. Further the role of shipfinance in the exploitation of a ship.
