The assembly
process; 4. Assembly automation; 5. Design for Assembly and Poka Yoke; 6. Assembly systems: concepts, structures and components; 7. Micro-assembly: basics, main methods, micro-factories, micro-gripping, self-adjustment. 8. Case study on the design of an assembly system for a given product. Remarks (specific information about assessment,
entry requirements, etc.): A written examination will assess the individual knowledge level. Next,
assessment will be based on the laboratory project and the case study. |
|
Goals: Gaining
knowledge and skills in industrial assembly, in order to be able to (guide
the) development and implementation of assembly systems. |
|
Computer use: |
|
Laboratory project(s): Programming
of an assembly system. A case study, to be done group-wise, focuses on
the design of an assembly system for a given industrial product. The company
which provided the product will be visited. |
|
Design content: Design of
assembly systems, (re)design of a product from the
viewpoint of assemblability. |
|
Percentage of design: 70% |
