Detailed description of topics:
This
course studies the development of materials and production techniques in the
visual arts. From the early stone age to the contemporary art, artists and
craftsmen have been on a continuous quest for new materials and innovative
production techniques to realize artistic concepts. The main focus of this
course is the relation between the introduction of new materials on one hand
and immaterial developments in the form of stylistic changes in the visual
arts. |
