Learning goals:

The student must be able to:

  1. Describe different propulsion system and electric power supply system concepts (direct drive, geared drive, electric transmission, power supply with diesel or gt generators, integration with propulsion) with their advantages and disadvantages.

  2. Describe the main components of propulsion and electric power supply systems and their functions. 

  3. Structure a written report (contents, exec summary, target audience, goals, results, references, conclusions etc)

  4. Structure the contents of a written report (writing styles, lay-out, subdivisions, figures, tables, notes etc)

  5. Structure an oral presentation (intro, contents, message, details, conclusions, closure)

  6. Support an oral presentation with audio-visual aids (slides, sheets, film; presentation of info on slides/sheets)

  7. Give an oral presentation (stance, speech, articulation, movements, eye-contact etc)
