System Sensing and Control

Research Theme

Man-machine interface for wearable robot

Brief Explanation

A sensing system for detecting human motion intention plays a critical role in wearable robots such as power suits.  Our laboratory has proposed the sensor suit as a novel wearable sensing system and developed some innovative sensor.  In this program, some sensing algorithm for the sensor suit will be established and  applied to man-machine interface of power amplifiers.

Research Steps

1.       Literature survey (one month)

2.       Establishment of robust sensing algorithms for detecting human motion (two month)

3.       Evaluation of them (two month)

Period

Five months, but possible to extend to a 10-month project.

Necessary Background, Knowledge, Skills

Fundamental knowledge about image processing.

Computer programming skills (C++, MatLab).
