Product Modularization

Brief Explanation

Services are getting an important part of a product sale. Customers require individual product. Besides more knowledge is built-in the products. A modularization of the product is therefore necessary.  The topic for the project is to build a model of a product that includes customization, service and knowledge. The product is not limited to be a traditional industrial product, but could also include food products and health care services.

Research Steps

1. Literature survey (one month)

2. Model development (three months)

3. Model testing and computer implementation (one month)

Period

5 months, but can be extended as a 10-month project

Necessary Background, Knowledge, Skills

Fundamental knowledge about manufacturing systems.

Computer programming skills.

If necessary, some references can be specified.
