Research Theme |
Design and Mechanical
Assessment of your own Nanostructures |
|
Brief Explanation |
Scale dependency on
mechanical behavior of the nanostructures is the most attractive topics due
to the drastic change of their surface-volume ratio. In this research, the
original nanostructure will be designed according to your own idea and
manufactured by the focus ion beam – chemical vapor deposition
(FIB-CVD) technique. Then, the structural rigidity will be evaluated by
searching the resonance frequency of the nanostructure in the scanning
electron microscopy (SEM). |
|
Research Steps |
1. Designing the
nanostructure for the desired purpose and performing its structural analysis. Leaning how to use the FIB-CVD technique (two month) 2. Manufacturing the
structure by FIB-CVD (one month) 3. Measuring the
resonance frequency of it and comparing with the elastic dynamical
calculation (two months) |
|
Period |
5 months, but can be
extended as a 10-month project, by including hardware experiments. |
