Development of CAM System for Multi-Axis Control Machining

Brief Explanation

Multi-axis control machining is an important issue from the viewpoint of efficient and accurate manufacturing of complex workpieces. The research theme deals with the development of CAM software for 5-axis control machining center or parallel kinematic machine.

Research Steps

1. Literature survey (one month)

2. Training of multi-axis control machine tools (two months)

3. Development of CAM software (five months)

4. Cutting experiments for verification (two months)

Period

10-month project including software development and cutting experiments

Necessary Background, Knowledge, Skills

Fundamental knowledge about Numerical Control and Solid Modeling. Computer programming skills. If necessary, some references can be specified.
