Research Theme

Planning of linear object manipulation

Brief Explanation

Automatic planning and execution of linear object manipulation such as cables, wires, or ropes is important in industrial field. Especially, knotting manipulation is required for fixing or packing of objects. In this study, a planning method of knotting/unknotting manipulation will be proposed.

Research Steps

1. Literature survey (one month)

2. Proposing a planning method (two months)

3. Implementing a planning system (two months)

Period

5 months, but can be extended as a 10-month project, by including knotting experiments

Necessary Background, Knowledge, Skills

Computer programming skills.
