Faculty/Department/Institute

Department of Management of Technology, Graduate school of Engineering

Group Name

Composite Materials

Research Theme

Damage mechanics of Composites

Brief Explanation

The woven fabric composites have some advantages like easy handling and high lateral strength. Woven fabric laminate consist of

a pile of woven layers impregnated with a resin.

The research topics are to investigate an effect of the disorder of pile-up on damage development under tensile load by experiment and to analyze the FEM based on damage mechanics

Research Steps

1. Literature survey (one month)

2. Preparing of specimens (one month)

3. Study of the algorithms on damage mechanics (two months)

4. Analysis of FEM (one month)

Period

5 months

Necessary Background, Knowledge, Skills

Knowledge about composites

Computer programming skills.
