Research Theme |
Distributed Control of
a deformable mirror in Adaptive Optics |
|
Brief Explanation |
Adaptive Optics is the
major theme in optical instruments used in a telescope, lithography, optical
communication, etc. The planned increase in dimension of deformable mirror
excludes the use of a centralised controller design. Therefore the DCSC is
presently conducting innovative research on distributing the controller
activity over a large array of control units that only communicate with their
neighbours. |
|
Research Steps |
1. Literature survey on
distributed modeling (three month) 2. Developing an
identification method for distributed control (five month) 3. validating the
implemented method in simulation and on a breadboard (two month) |
|
Period |
10 months but can be
tuned for 5 months |
