Research Theme

Evaluation of performance of X-ray CT scanning

Brief Explanation

Recent rapid advancement in X-ray CT (Computed Tomography) scanners for industrial applications opens up new research domains. Because of this rapid advancement, there has not been any established way to evaluate performance of CT scanners. So it is very hard for users to select CT scanners suitable to their objectives. In this project, methods to evaluate performance (accuracy and quality of CT images) will be investigated to make a proposal for standard evaluation procedure. This project will be conducted with the help of a group of several Japanese companies.
